DC was hectic. We spent a lot of time inside these incredible looking buildings, some of which are very ornate inside. The pictures with the wall art is from the Library of Congress, which also happens to be the first building in DC built with electric lights. And that giant lady, who isn't me is Lady Freedom. She sits on top of the Capitol Building, except for this replica available to the public inside the Capitol.
The main thing I've learnt this week has been don't try to sell a car when you're under time pressure. Andrew and I thought the easiest way to sell the car would be through one those joints where you drive in and they give you an offer. Wrong. They would only offer us $106 for our car. $100! I can buy a really nice pair of shoes for that price. Instead, we gave up our bus tickets to New York, and decided to drive the car there instead, in the hopes we could sell it for at least a few hundred more. Adding more adventure to the adventure. Onwards and upwards to New York. We will now have driven completely from one coast to the other. Wish us well.
