Andrew and I have been totally unprepared for the places we have gone, it keeps getting warmer and warmer! I just want to wear a winter coat at some point. We stayed with the best Airbnb hosts ever. Saturday was waffle brunch day, and we spent a relaxing Saturday morning with our hosts and their friends, eating waffles and drinking mimosas!
Our days of exploring through Austin were somewhat hampered by Austin City Limits, a music festival downtown which we didn't know about. But it did mean we snuck in a free concert while relaxing at this amazing natural spring in the middle of a city park called Barton Springs. Navigating the crowds and traffic added to the adventure. Once you got there, a 3 acre pool greeted you. 3 acres! Naturally the festival was full of hipsters and beards, which then led to a conversation of Seattle style, and how you'd describe it. Definitely not hipster hood; Seattle does have a lot of coloured hair, tattoos, and piercings, oh and flannel, so maybe modern grunge?
If you ever need a pair of bedazzled, patterned, leather cowboy boots. Austin has you covered. We passed at least 3 stores of $400+ cowboy boots in every pattern and design you can ever imagine. Austin also has some great thrift shopping, the first I've been able to do and so cheap! So much cheaper than Seattle.
We couldn't leave Austin and Texas without our share of Mexican food, and Torchy's Taco's are raved about here. Andrew's face says it all, apparently the sauce is hot. I went with the mild ones.
