New Orleans is the city of colour. In the old part of town, and throughout the city, you notice the houses and buildings, so many brightly coloured, and designed with shutters for all the doors and windows. Many of which were not open, probably to keep the prying tourists eyes out of the private residences! New Orleans also happens to be surrounded by old, decrepit cemeteries. I would've liked to visit more of them but the mosquitos shut that idea down; putting it on the list for next time.
We did this fantastic swamp tour (before the attack of the mosquitos - I'll explain more in my next post), and the alligators were out for us. We saw around 30 or so alligators in the swamp, and got to meet our guides' pet alligator (it's already 2 1/2 years old, but so small!)
