We ended the US part of our trip in Boston, the land of Sam Adams beer, and the start of the American revolution. We were lucky enough to have a friend from the west coast visit us in Boston, and we spent one evening walking the freedom trail through cold and windy Boston. You can see the Bunker Hill monument in the silhouetted picture above. In the darkness it looks a little like Mary Poppins in front of the Washington Monument, but it represents the first official battle between the British and the American colonists of the American revolution. It was a fitting end to our US trip, having learnt a lot more about the US through our entire adventure.
And the final place where I could drink a cocktail for under $10. That's never going to happen when I'm back home.
