The local Salvos (thirft store) in Australia asked me to share an Op Shop/thrifted transformation for their monthly magazine! If you're in Australia and you're a Salvos member, you'll get the magazine soon, if not, you can live my post here!
It's also incredibly exciting as it's my first print feature ever! It was also perfect timing. I had a skirt sitting in my closet just waiting for an upcycle project.
I picked this blue skirt up at the Salvos for four dollars, what a bargain! It was a little too big, and I’m fairly sure it was part of a 90’s power suit! Despite that, it had potential as a killer mini skirt.
This particular skirt already had a lovely shape; all it needed was a basic hem, and a dart to cinch in the waist. For added charm, I added a couple cute buttons I had lying around.
I absolutely love how it turned out and I can’t wait to bring it out for winter with black tights and a heavy coat! I’m loving the 60’s vibe!
