I wore this outfit last Friday to a bloggers dinner event held for Dine with Heart at Radio Mexico. During the month of May, Sacred Heart Mission holds events throughout Melbourne to fundraise; every $4 raised pays for a healthy meal for someone who otherwise couldn’t afford it, with the goal being to raise $150,000 to keep the Mission’s Meals Program running. This amazing organisation churns out 400 hot, free meals a day! They also run one of my favourite op shops on Chapel St, so you can support this organisation by shopping there as well.
Unfortunately I don't have any pictures from the evening. With a phone as bad as mine, pictures are a near impossible. But the night was wonderful, especially exciting to meet some fellow Melbourne bloggers, and give a little something back to the community.
This outfit is the perfect mix of autumn and Melbourne. Cool enough to bring out this oversized fur vest, but not so cool that I needed to wear boots; hence the sandals. As I had work early that day, woo for casual Friday's, this fur vest got a little bit of attention hanging on the back of my chair. On a few occasions I'd find someone stroking the back of my chair!
I bought this vest during the summer months at a Salvos in Phillip Island - the same trip I picked up this outfit and this one. I've been waiting for it to cool down a little to wear it. The vest is a few sizes too big, but it works perfectly for what it is. There's another tip for you, don't be a size snob. You never know what'll work for you! The boyfriend hates it, but I love it :) In full disclosure I ended up wearing this same outfit out Saturday night too, except that night I had to swap the sandals for boots. When I get this excited for an outfit, I want to keep wearing it - do you do the same thing?
